Dear Acupuncture Patients and Friends,

Happy Summer! What a volcanic rising of the temps after that odd, cool May. Thankfully the humidity and breeze have been cooperating in keeping things reasonable.

So who should get acpuncture in the summer? As you probable know by now if you've seen me or read one of these emails, Chinse medicine pays a lot of attention to differences in constitution. A colder constitution will respond favorably to the general warming of the climate. Many symptoms will lessen. But a warmer person might struggle more in these hot months. If you know you tend to have health issues as the summer progresses, come in sooner rather than later. Remember, getting acupuncture is like resetting a computer. Somehow a reboot with well-chosen points does the body good.
One thing I've noticed in these 12 years of practicing is that many Summer issues like sciatica or joint pain or headaches seem to come on suddenly. As if something has been simmering for awhile and then comes to a quick boil. So for warmer people, try a reset or 2 in the coming several months to help keep you cool and balanced.
